Dr. Megan O'Brokta
I am Dr. Megan O’Brokta, mental health counselor and Director of Wellness at WML Wellness LLC, and I look forward to working with you! With a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh, I bring a distinctive blend of expertise in mental health and performance counseling for both individuals and athletes. My professional focus includes supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, substance use challenges, eating disorders, and the mental health impacts of concussions.
I specialize in meeting clients where they are, tailoring my approach to address their unique needs. My therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from evidence-based techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems Therapy help individuals reach their goals and overcome life’s obstacles.
With extensive experience working with NCAA individual athletes and teams, I have cultivated a strong ability to address both sport-specific challenges, such as performance anxiety and coaching dynamics, and broader mental health concerns, including grief and relationship struggles, My expertise spans working with both individuals and athletes, supporting those with substance use and eating disorders as well as elite athletes striving to balance high performance with personal well-being. Through this work, I help clients navigate life’s complexities and foster resilience in both their personal and professional lives.
