Wendie Lubinsky Counseling PLLC

Mental Health Counseling for Couples, Individuals, Families, Teens, and Adolescents

Marriage & Couples Counseling – Wendie enjoys working with couples to help them reconnect spiritually, emotionally, and physically and utilizes sex/intimacy therapy as part of the integrated process of bringing a couple back together. It is normal in relationships for there to be an ebb and flow with intimacy and communication; however, the stress in relationships arises from one or both partners’ lack of communication skills, unmet expectations, failure to follow through, false promises, and failure of the partnership. This can lead to a lack of desire for intimacy and cause more frustration. Communication is the foundation for a healthy relationship, and partners must speak the same love language by communicating in a style each partner will comprehend. This could be the tone of voice, the intent behind the communication, perceived messages, love languages, or false narratives. If your “music is off,” your partner will not be receptive to your message. Our past experiences/relationships always impact our current life/relationships. In your first session, we will discuss what is and isn’t working in the current relationship and identify how individual backgrounds contribute to those issues. Together, we will create goals to help you reconnect by learning to communicate better and increase intimacy.  I help couples reconnect spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Communication is key to success.

Family & Individual Counseling – Wendie specializes in couples, families, and individual counseling. Wendie uses an eclectic theoretical orientation, but her primary theoretical orientations are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and existentialism, focusing on Logotherapy to help clients identify meaning in their lives and create goals to move toward wellness. I use an eclectic theoretical orientation to help clients identify meaning in their lives and create goals to move toward wellness.

Wendie also specializes in clients with trauma, eating disorders, change of life crises, addiction, depression, anxiety, and many more.

Life is hard, and the choices we make can determine how we cope, which can benefit us or be a hindrance.  The process of doing things is just as important as the outcome. Therapy sessions are dedicated to helping you where you need it the most. My combined treatment plans look at the mind-body connection to understand why we have a stomachache or headache, are unfocused or unmotivated, have anxiety or fear, are unhappy, can’t stay out of the kitchen, or why our relationships are failing. Together, we will uncover your triggers and learn new healthy coping skills. I work with individuals, families, couples, and adolescents, run group sessions for additional peer support, and cultivate group coherence so we realize we aren’t alone. I integrate treatment theories including but not limited to Psychotherapy, REBT, Structural Family Therapy, CBT, Attachment Theory, Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Based Therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Logotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Areas of focus include behavioral difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive/compulsiveness, trauma, relationships, family difficulties, eating disorders, infertility, and sex counseling.
