If you aren’t learning from your past and loathe the thought of the next stressful situation, then you haven’t gathered enough tools from your experiences to help you on your journey through life. Stress is a part of life, so is sadness, anger, anxiety, pain, love, joy, happiness, etc. So if this is what we should expect, then we need to learn how to manage ourselves so we don’t fall to pieces the next time life gets tough.

- Did you know that being tired is tied to both mental health and physiology? If you are stressed, depressed, anxious, fearful, etc. that can prevent you from getting a good night’s rest. Did you know that proper diet and exercise can not only allow you to sleep better but nutrition and fitness can improve mood, reduce symptoms of anxiety and make you less depressed?
- Do you wonder why you feel anxious all the time? Sometimes trauma from the past rears its ugly head at the worst time. If trauma isn’t managed during the time of crisis then it gets pushed into our unconscious and rises to the surface when we want it the least. We have all experienced trauma but we have not all coped with the lasting effects on our self-identity. You don’t have to be defined by your past experiences. Let your experiences be a learning opportunity but not define who you are or who you will always be.
- Is your marriage failing and you don’t know what to do? Effective communication is the tool to a lasting relationship. Sometimes our microexpressions or our “music” is off when we talk to our spouse and we aren’t aware of it because we are stressed or have something else on our mind. But your spouse feels it and can be hurt or resentful of your words or how you said it. Effective communication combines intended message with verbal and nonverbal language. Perception is everything!
Life is hard, and the choices we make can determine how we cope which can benefit us or be of a hindrance. The process by which we do things is just as important as the outcome. Therapy sessions are dedicated to help you where you need it the most. My combined treatment plans look at the mind-body connection to understand why we have a stomachache, headache, are unfocused or unmotivated, have anxiety, fear, are unhappy, can’t stay out of the kitchen, or why our relationships are failing. Together we will uncover your triggers and learn new healthy coping skills. I work with individuals, families, couples, adolescents, and run group sessions for additional peer support and cultivating group coherence so we realize we aren’t alone. I integrate treatment theories including but not limited to Psychotherapy, REBT, Structural Family Therapy, CBT, Attachment Theory, Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Based Therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Logo Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Areas of focus include behavioral difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive/compulsiveness, trauma, relationships, family difficulties, eating disorders, infertility, and sex counseling.

Sliding Scale Cost – $100/50-minute session, Cancellations are requested at least 24 hours in advance or a flat rate of $85.00 will be charged for no-show appointment.
*Superbills will be given to all patients that are not using insurance and can be submitted to insurance for out of network coverage.
