Anna Thomson, LCMHCA

My name is Anna Thomson and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I am committed to creating a collaborative therapeutic environment, by meeting clients where they are and working alongside them in their goals! My goal is to empower clients to make meaningful and positive changes in their lives.

I have counseling experience working with individuals ages 20-75 addressing a range of mental and behavioral health concerns, such as life transitions, anxiety, conflict-resolution, and depression. I integrate evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, to help clients identify, challenge, and gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and Person-Centered Therapy to create a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to talk, feel, and take therapy at their own pace. I also have experience working in Applied Behavior Analytics with children with Autism, focusing on fostering safe spaces for children to learn and grow while addressing various behavioral concerns.
