Sarah Booth is a registered dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and the founder of Catbird Nutrition, a nutrition counseling practice based in North Carolina. She helps adults navigate eating disorders, disordered eating, diabetes, PCOS, and the everyday challenges of nourishing themselves. She has a particular interest in helping people whose concerns overlap pursue their health goals while building a more peaceful relationship with food.
After earning her master’s in nutrition at Appalachian State University, Sarah began counseling patients in a hospital cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program. Conversations about blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol often revealed years of dieting, food anxiety, and experiences of weight stigma. Those conversations shaped her approach and led her to become the primary dietitian at a residential eating disorder treatment program for adults before moving into outpatient care.
Sarah brings a compassionate, weight-inclusive approach to nutrition counseling, helping clients find ways of eating that support their health and fit their lives. She also supports adults taking GLP-1 medications, with attention to adequate nourishment, side effects, and their relationship with food. Whether someone is working toward recovery, managing a chronic condition, or simply tired of food taking up so much mental space, Sarah works alongside them toward goals that reflect their needs, values, and daily life.
Outside of work, you can find Sarah rock climbing, hiking, or spending time at home with her husband, Alex, and their three cats, Nova, Nori, and Theo.
