Internships at Wendie Lubinsky Counseling PLLC
Dr. Wendie Lubinsky, LCMHC – Director of Internships & Clinical Development at Wendie Lubinsky Counseling PLLC with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and Licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Throughout Wendie’s career journey, she has always been a mentor and teacher, starting at a young age as an American Red Cross instructor and as the owner of WML Aquatics LLC in NY. Wendie saw the value of clinical supervision while completing her master’s as an intern and throughout the associate licensure process. This made her want to create the same value for future counseling students.
Wendie is passionate about teaching and helping intern and practicum students connect the reality of the academic classroom and the art of therapy in the office. The office of Wendie Lubinsky Counseling PLLC offers competitive and sought-after internship programs with students recruited from top universities, including NC State, ECU, UNC Chapel-Hill, and Wake Forest University.
Students entering practicum and internship have completed most required courses and are now adding practical experience to their resume. Graduate student interns are required to fulfill 600 direct clinical hours under the supervision of a licensed clinical therapist as part of their graduate training. Upon graduation, these students not only have a full master’s degree education but also have built a solid reputation in working with clients with many different mental health issues under direct clinical supervision. Internships allow for a robust working experience with clients and an expansion of skills and knowledge, allowing for refinement in their areas of expertise. This sets the clinician-in-training up for success by preparing them for what to expect in the field, knowing how to handle many legal and ethical issues, and becoming a highly valuable associate-level licensed clinician.
Wendie creates a collaborative environment for these students to learn hands-on training while implementing what they were taught in the classroom. Wendie meets with the interns weekly to ensure every student and client gets all the support they need. This Internship Program accepts Master level MSW, LCMHC, and MFT students.
